I wanted to create pure silk turquoise water to give a sense of tropical paradise. Hence, a depiction of ‘Birds of Paradise’. Also it was important to show the value of living in the moment, the pride expressed in the indigenous fisherman, and basking in the beautiful sunrise.
It was especially fun wrapping and folding a bold printed silk to make a sun-suit. Overall, the goal was a warm, scenic day.
